No, Probiotic 50 Advanced is not enteric coated or a slow release formula. Please allow me to explain as best as possible.
All Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains survive well in stomach acids. Most others do not and die before going into the intestinal track. All of the strains in Probiotic 50 Advanced are Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus strains.
You get some probiotics on the market which are compressed into pearls or tablets, with the claim to be a slow release or enteric coated capsule. These products usually undergo heat or compression or both to shape them into tablets, which is not a good thing for your live and highly sensitive live bacterial strains, and can easily kill them in the process. This leaves you with even less of the original CFU count in your probiotic. Our Probiotics are contained in veggie caps, making it a 100% natural product, just like you would consume a quality yoghurt containing probiotics, with no additional enteric coating needed.
In many cases, capsules are designed to withstand stomach acids in order to deliver the probiotics to the right place within your GI tract, but enteric coating is actually not the best solution. The enteric coating oftentimes prevents the probiotic capsule from breaking down in the stomach (too late to be effective). So if you start with an equal amount of probiotics in two different capsules, and one of them are enteric coated, the one without the coating may have a better result in the intestinal tract (when taken with food and a quality prebiotic) than the one that's enteric coated. Our Advanced formula contains a quality prebiotic for the probiotic to live upon as it passes through the intestines.
